Machynlleth Service Station

C+A Design provided a full range of services for Ascona, to transform a tired existing petrol station into a modern and functional one. The site offers six fuel pumps, AdBlue and kerosene pumps, a jet wash, roll over car wash and valet units as well as parking. A new, larger shop was designed with the salesfloor maximised by including a second storey for the back of house accommodation. The extra size has allowed for a Starbucks counter, hot food offer and even indoor seating.

We overcame a very challenging site, with issues included limited space, flood risk, Japanese Knotweed, asbestos, remediation of historic ground contamination required, high ground water, piled foundations, overhead power cables, a culvert diversion, and close proximity to a rail line. Despite all this, we are pleased that the service station is a huge success.
