This scheme consisted of both apartments and houses which used highly insulated timber frames and a brick outer skin giving them an attractive, traditional appearance. C+A Design were able to achieve a considerably greater number of units on the site than the client had originally anticipated, in spite of potential difficulties including the retained right of access that passed within the development and a number of trees that needed to be protected. We were also able to successfully win planning permission for phase two, following careful negotiation on a number of fronts, including matters relating to urban design, tree loss and ecological concerns.
