Update to Drawing Sheets in Line with ISO 19650 Standards

We have recently updated our drawing sheets to comply with ISO 19650 standards.

We have simplified the layout on our drawings. When discussing a specific drawing, please reference the project number, followed by the function, space, and number, which are highlighted in orange on the drawing sheet. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us.

Detailed Explanation of Key Fields:

Project

This specifies the project to which the drawing relates. It will typically feature our internal project reference, unless a client-specific reference is provided.

Originator

Identifies the organisation responsible for the drawing. On our drawings, this will always be marked as 'CAD' (C + A Design).

Form

Refers to the type or format of the document:

D – Drawing

M – Model

L – Schedule

T – Specification

Discipline

Indicates the specific discipline the drawing relates to. Ours will always be 'A' for architect.

Suitability

Shows the stage of the document in the project lifecycle. These stages are:

S0 – WIP (Work In Progress)

S0 – Model issue

S2 – Coordination

S3 – Review and comment

S4 – End of stage

S5 – Approved by client

A(n) – Authorised and accepted

B(n) – Partial sign-off

CR – As constructed

Function (Functional Breakdown)

Specifies the document’s purpose. This is usually either:

S(followed by number) for site

B(followed by number) for building

Space (Spatial Breakdown)

Identifies the specific area the drawing pertains to. Examples include:

XX – No levels applicable

ZZ – Multiple views included on the sheet

00 – Ground floor

01 – First floor

RF – Roof level

B1 – Basement levels

Number

A unique identifier assigned to the drawing for tracking and reference. The number consists of four parts, such as in 1202 (abcc):

a: Project stage:

1: Feasibility / Sketches

2: Planning

3: Tender onwards

b: Drawing type:

1: Location plan

2: Site plans

3: Building plans

4: Elevations

5: Sections

6: Details

7: Visualisations

8: Reports

cc: Sheet reference number, starting from 01 and increasing sequentially.

Revision

Revisions are now labelled as P01 and C01:

P stands for preliminary

C stands for contractual

Sequential numbering is used, but transitions from preliminary (P) to contract (C) do not carry over sequentially.
