Another unanimous approval at planning committee has been gained by C+A Design, this time for an EV charging hub in Havenbridge, Pembrokeshire. The site is owned by Ascona, who have been named as the fastest growing business in Wales, and will provide a high-quality charging experience with a variety of facilities.
The proposal, which includes 12 electric vehicle charging bays, also provides a drive-thru restaurant, a drive-thru coffee pod and vehicle wash and valet area. This allows a number of options for the occupants of charging vehicles: they can use the drive-thru facilities before consuming the goods in their vehicles, make use of the picnic area, or make use of the restaurant facilities. The restaurant will have approximately 40 seats, toilets and Wi-Fi for those wishing to work while they wait for their vehicle to charge.
The site layout is driven primarily by safety and the retention of existing habitats. Considerations have been made to minimise any disruption to existing natural habitat and landscaping. The proposed landscaping scheme includes a mix of ornamental landscape in the centre of the site and wilder landscaping towards the edge of site, to encourage use by wildlife.
C+A Design provided Architectural and Planning Services, which included a visual impact assessment that was key to obtaining permission.
